Gert-Jan Prins will play, and talk about his electronic instruments, which are based on radio-electronics.
I am fascinated with radio-electronics since i was sixteen years old, first operating as a pirate radio station, shortly after as a radio amateur, and then in combination with my drumming and electronic composing activities.
Initially fascinated by the atmospherical aspects of radio, and talking with friends in the neighbourhood through the air, i discovered later i could use the combination of transmitter and receiver as a means to create specific filters for sound.

Works are created over the years in the forms of: solo works in sound and towards the visual, collaborations with other improvisers, installations, electronic sculptures.
In the live-set of 4 December 2020, i will use: radio-electronics, microphones, headphones, cymbals and voice.

While he started his career as a drummer, his works include performances, sound-installations, compositions, electronic circuits, graphical works, and collaborations with other musicians, visual artists, composers and dancers. He lives and works in Amsterdam, NL.
