what is Studio LOOS?

Since 2005 Studio LOOS has been the hot spot for experimental music and artistic research in The Hague, The Netherlands and cannot be separated from LOOS.

In 2005, Studio LOOS was established by the LOOS foundation to provide a creative hub for The Hague and the surrounding community.

Studio LOOS, from 1997 - 2004 a conceptual space, and from 2005 until now a beautiful physical 200 m2 space with excellent technical facilities for research, experimentation in, and production and presentation of interdisciplinary new music.developed into a prominent platform for international avant-garde art.

Studio LOOS now functions as a workspace, laboratory and public presentation place for innovative work in the fields of contemporary music, improvisation, electronic music, artificial intelligence, and sound installations. 

Essential to LOOS are originality, authenticity, progressiveness, a high standard of performance and ideas, and an adventurous attitude. LOOS and Studio LOOS are proud of their history of supporting a diverse and international array of musicians and is constantly working to achieve a more inclusive and equitable artistic practice in the community and abroad.
