Anna Chocholi
Media Artist
Anna Chocholi is a media artist from Greece. Her interests are focused on emerging spaces, virtual and augmented media, contemporary video and generative image.
Having a long lasting proclivity to the arts, she pursued her undergraduate studies in Visual and Applied Arts at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. There, she studied painting for three years, while the last two years of her studies she turned to media arts. Having graduated with honors, she pursued a masters degree in Media Technology at Leiden University from which she graduated in 2018. The same year she became a member of Stroom, Den Haag.
In 2014, she begun a two-year collaboration with the music group "Phonotribe Project", creating live visuals for their shows. With the group's rapid rise in popularity, they traveled and performed all around Greece. In the meantime, she became involved in various musical projects creating visual material for music bands such as "Lastline Project" and D.T.R.A.N.E.R. In 2015 she created two short music films for the electroacoustic project ReSinThesis. In 2018, along with an international group of interdisciplinary artists, she co-founded the artistic collective Twelve-lab.
As an independent artist, she has exhibited in spaces such as the Old Archeological Museum of Thessaloniki [GR], The Athens Concert Hall [GR], De Meelfabriek [NL], Studio Loos [NL] and V2 Lab for the unstable media [NL]. Among others, she has participated in festivals such as Athens Digital Arts Festival [GR], TodaysArt [NL] and the Biennale of Thessaloniki [GR] and she has joined forces with organizations such as the Society for Study of Cultural Diversity.
