Arvind Ganga
Abstract psychedelic guitar
Arvind Ganga is a guitar player from Den Haag (NL). He takes a physical approach to guitar playing, employing objects and extended techniques to explore new sonic possibilities. His music draws from influences as diverse as noise and drones, North Indian ragas, experimental rock, and everyday sounds. With free improvisation he brings these together into an intense, loosely structured, chaotic mesh that is bathing in the rays of a deep red sun. Ethereal noise with a punk-improv attitude. Arvind plays solo, improvises with like-minded musicians, and is active in music/dance improvisation. His music took him to play squats, galleries, clubs and festivals from Poland to Portugal.
FillinTheGap
Electronic-duo free improvisation
FillinTheGap is a duo project composed by Ruben Brovida and Stefano Sgarbi. The project is rooted in the ongoing individual explorations of sonic and musical possibilities of electroacoustic devices and it is born throughout the encounter of the two. Such an encounter made new surprising explorations accessible like textures built up through superimposing layers of different natures and timbre digital transformations of analogically synthesised sonorities. Free improvisation and live processing is how the investigation is approached: the only preparation is the instruments design made on one side (Stefano) in a digital realm while on the other (Ruben) in the analog modular domain. The gap we want to fill and fall in is the gap of mystery, of the unknown, of the unpredictable. The gap is the unsafe unconventional spot that may exist between two different worlds that, accepting the prescribed interconnection, finally look for a conscious compromise.
Peter Edwards aka Casper Electronics
Live electronics
Peter Edwards is an American artist living in the Netherlands. Edwards’ practice utilizes a variety of mediums. He is a musician, sculptor, inventor and teacher–though it is crucial to his work that these roles are not exclusive of each other. His focus takes place primarily at the intersections of these roles. The overlaps fulfill a desire to challenge, entertain and inspire audiences to perceive new possibilities. In addition, Edwards employs the practice of electronics hacking and circuit bending of common technologies (such as consumer electronics and educational toys) to illustrate that function should not be dictated to the end user. By blending mediums or practices thought to exist on their own, he hopes to destabilize preconceptions of role and function as well as dissolve the barriers between producer and consumer.
This event is curated by Kacper Ziemianin and Marcello Ghilardi.
